The global scramble for PPE and what we can do now for Wales

Workplace Worksafe back Mark Drakeford call to action for Welsh business to create a new Welsh supply of PPE to support NHS and social care staff.  We need to act now!  MD calls local business firms to get in touchifyou have the availability on production lines or capacity to make PPE products.

Workplace Worksafe is a key supplier of quality standard PPE products.  Our priority since the Global COVID 19 crisis hit is to ensure that PPE supply chain to our key customers remain open and fluid. Our staff are working tirelessly to secure new PPE offshore manufacturers and sources.

But with the global shortages, high demand and competition now coming from every country, securing offshore sources is going to be challenging if not near impossible.

We need to act now!

We fully support First Minister Mark Drakeford call to action for Welsh business to create a new Welsh supply of personal protective equipment to support NHS and social care staff and to that end we are calling on all companies with spare manufacturing capacity to get in touch.

Rhian Parry MD, Workplace Worksafe

“Establishing a Welsh supply chain for PPE is of the utmost importance. There is a global scramble for this equipment and some countries have wiped the available global stocks!

We (Workplace Worksafe) are working with the Welsh Government and we are helping them identify liked minded businesspeople who can collaborate quickly to establish PPE manufacturing – it doesn’t matter if you don’t have the experience in this sector. We will bring this to the table.  We just want to talk to minded companies. Who can help us bring the local production of PPE quickly.  We need to start making products now, as well as plan for the possible second wave of infections!”
